The company is developing its anti-clogging platform of surgical drainage devices. By solving the clogging problem the company’s products will allow doctors to manage bleeding and clogging in large diameter chest tubes in a safer fashion. A further benefit is that surgeons will be able to utilize minimally invasive drainage tubes, resulting in a reduction in concern for clogging and increased patient comfort. Clear Catheter Systems is different because it is direct, fast and minimally invasive:

Direct: The Clear Catheter System can be used with standard chest tubes used after heart, lung and trauma surgery, allowing surgeons and nurses to be sure the tube is open and free of clogging.

Fast: The Clear Catheter System can be put in at the time of surgery, or added to a tube after clogging has started. They are quick and easy to use at the bedside, making them helpful in even the most difficult of clinical situations.

Cost-effective: The Clear Catheter Systems products are affordable enough for routine use and may even save money, by minimizing the time currently utilized to manage clogging tubes and the complications that ensue when clogging occurs.

Our lead product, the PleuraFlow (PF) Catheter*, was developed to treat active clogging of chest tubes and other surgical drainage tubes.

The product will be developed initially in 3 sizes, each for a different segment of the pleural drainage market.

PF-32  – 32 F tube system for standard heart, lung and trauma surgery patients

PF-20  – -20 F tube system for minimally invasive and pediatric cases

PF-15  – 15 F tube system for chronic outpatient pleural effusions

The company has a pipeline of products based on its proprietary tube clearance technology to treat tube clogging in other medical market segments, including its FlowCath system for the urinary catheter drainage market, and GastroFlow catheter system, for the enteral feeding market sector.
